Late last year Efterklang and renowned filmmaker Vincent Moon announced their film project AN ISLAND, a unique musical collaboration. The film will be aired before each Efterklang live show on their forthcoming European tour (February 21st - March 18th).
In addition Efterklang and Vincent are also inviting people to host their own screenings of AN ISLAND. Dubbed Private-Public Screenings, the rules are very simple. In order to host a screening, each event must adhere to the following:
• The screenings need to offer free entry
• The screenings need to be public
• The screenings need to have a minimum capacity of five people
• The screenings need to be verified by Efterklang and Vincent Moon and only screenings that are featured on www.anisland.cc are official Private-Public Screenings.
In other words as long as entrance is free and it is an open event (as capacity permits) the Private-Public Screenings can take place at a home, at a café, in a school auditorium or any similar space. Those planning to host screenings in their own homes will be allowed full control over who can attend.
The Private-Public Screenings will run for two months between February and March 2011, and are designed to create a free and inspiring distribution method for film. For an updated list of the current and future Official Screenings and Private-Public Screenings of AN ISLAND visit the website.
